Hello everyone

It's quieter here than dogweb isn't it?

I'm owned by a blue point Siamese and a dark tortie cats home moggie. Both are mature girlies, 14 and 16 respectively.

They have just experienced a severe change of life - our old dog died in May, we've just aquired a pup. We are all coping...but it's different for the cats, despite the pup being really quite good with them (most of the time).

I don't think I'll have lots to say on cats, but Azz persuaded me to register and now, if there is something I think I know the answer to, or if I need any advice myself it's all set up.

Re: Hello everyone

Hi Dinahsmum
Welcome to Catpages!

Yes its a lot quieter here, isnt it! I think cats tend to do their own thing more, unlike dogs who have to be excercised etc and also dogs appear to get more things wrong with them.

I have a tortie moggie, Cassie, as well, she's 7 now. I'd be interested to know if yours have any 'spiteful' behaviour habits?!

Sorry to hear you lost your dog but I'm sure the cats will get used to the pup eventually. Of course they are grown up girls now, aren't they? They are probably finding the pup a bit boisterous at the moment!

Glad Azz persuaded you to come on here and we will look forward to hearing from you again.

Hi Dinahs Mum! and Welcome to Catpages!

As Mags said I'm sure the cats will get used to the pup, it does take time... Cheetah still hisses at Rocky!!! (poor Rocky he just wants to play!).

Here is a pic of them when shes actually being nice to him!

Please post pics of your cats.. I love Siamese!

Re: Hello everyone

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Azz (or is it Raze....I have the feeling we have cyber-met before!) beware of Cheetah being spirited away - by me. She is too gorgeous for her own good.

I've found some pics, a good one of Min and a c*** one of Tizz, really taken to show off a roaring fire but she crept in at the edge.

They are good girls and get on pretty well. They're not inseparable or anything like that but are usually to be found in the same room.

Min appears to be 'helping with xmas cards!

and here's Tizz testing the thermic (?) output of the fire

Hope that will help introduce me. Nice to be here.

Re: Hello everyone

Thanks Mags & Azz

We love our fireplace too. Won't be long now till we have to oust the fern that's been sitting on it all summer and start stoking up. It's fabulous - 6 or 8 logs between 4pm & bedtime and it's tropical in our house. Our gas costs £9 per month!!!!

Anyway, what I really came to say is here's a pic taken an hour ago, showing our new family getting on well. 2nd day in a row that Min has joined the pup on OH lap. Must be progress. She is also quite happy to steal from the pup's bowl whilst she is eating. I think we are a happy family once more!
