We stayed at Crosthwaite, Dawn, about 4 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere. Here is the link to the place we stayed. http://www.greenbank-cumbria.co.uk/ Fantastic place for dogs - and you can take as many as you like!

The owner of the properties thinks there is a badger sett in the private wood and each evening she puts food out for the badgers. She put some food right outside our front door and each evening there were there at least 3 badgers came to eat. It was amazing - I've never seen them so close - such noisy eaters they are too! It is also amazing for birds too. She has multiple feeders and fills them up each day, so a variety of birds are feeding all the time.

I'm sure I posted on this thread yesterday, must be losing my mind!

Lovely photos, a beautiful area very well captured. I visited the lakes several times when I lived in the North but rarely had such lovely weather as you had. Our photos tended to be vague, murky shapes through the mist and drizzle, yours are a real delight.

There IS a Badger sett! Behind their property and up the hill a little, stayed there 3 times Kim!
