I love european cinema, but especially both British and Italian cinema from the 50s ad 60s; they are such snap shots of a fast-changing society gone forever.

Beautiful. Yes - it describes England perfectly. Or rather the idyll of a past England - the reality is somewhat broader in terms of cultural influence now.
