There is talk that they will phase them out. Not sure what they will replace them with though

Re: Sats

Mags, we, of course, have a completely different educational system, but here SAT stands for Student Achievement Test. We take them in junior or senior year of high school. The better your SATS the higher the chance of getting in the college/university of your choice.

Re: Sats

Pupils at the school I work at are sitting their KS3 SATs this week. There is a lot of pressure on them, however I think that at this level they do need some sort of preparation for GCSE's in 2 years time.

Re: Sats

My Son has already had his French Oral, he starts most of his final exams beginning the 17th, these are his final ones before leaving school or going onto A Level stage, which he is.

My Daughter is sitting her SATS next week too, before going off to Senior School in September.

Worrying time for me x

My daughter is doing hers too next week as she goes up to High School in September too.

Tom's sats are the ones they do prior to staring their GCSE course in September. It certainly is a worrying time for both the children and the parents. It's a lot of stress I think for children of these ages to 'perform'
