Pandora's had an accident!

Hi All!

Just got back from the Emergency Vets. I was calling Pandora in this evening about 8pm and I heard her bell tinkling so I knew she was on her way but when she jumped off our small wall onto he path she yelped. I went over to pick her up. It was dark so couldn't see her properly, she felt sticky and wet underneath I though she'd been lying in mud. When I got her into the light I realised I had my hand on her flesh, the skin on her thigh was hanging loose It was stripped to the muscle, as if it had been sliced.I wrapped her up quickly in a towel, she wasn't bleeding, was quiet and breathing ok. On quick inspection, she also had a chunk of fur taken from her back and 2 nasty blue bruises on her spine/ribs.

The on call vet is 20 mins away so I got there pronto. Haven't a clue what happened, no dog bites, only thing I can think of is she got stuck somewhere and struggled with glass or metal. Will probably never know.

The vet has given her painkillers and is keeping her in for X-rays under GA, suturing and IV antibiotics.

Poor baby, she was so good, very cooperative and patient.
I have to stay up til midnight to see how she is and then phone the vets. Such a worry

I'll post some pics of the damage when I put them thru photo bucket. Not too graphic!

Keep her in your prayers x

Gosh, what a shock that must have been for you Nette Poor Pandora, I don't suppose she could have been hit by a car could she?

She is in the best place at the moment and will receive any necessary treatment but I know how worried you must be about her... *hugs*

I hope she'll be able to return home very soon to receive extra fusses from her Mom.
Thinking of you both x

Blinking heck that's scary I wonder like someone if she has been hit by a car. But regardless of what caused it at leased she managed to get home Thank The Lord for that.
Hope she is more comfortable today, and the night went well although I don't suspect you had much sleep.
