Spice again.

When I woke this morning I thought there was something odd about Spice. She was acting normally, although she didn't start the night, or spend any of it on my pillow, which was slightly strange. Anyway, when I went to feed her, I realised it was because her left pupil had blown- the right was constricting normally but the left remained dilated. The vet was coming out to check a sheep and look at Pippin who has gone lame, so I asked if she would alos look at Spice. She said it could be a number of things- possibly linked to her ears ranging through to a tumour. She is happy with Spice at the moment and Spice is still eating, but we have to watch her and try to keep an eye out for any neurological issue developing.

Poor Spice - I am sure you would know if she was in distress, I presume her vision must be ??? poor in that eye.

Re: Spice again.

Sorry to hear about Spice, i'm glad the vet is reasonably happy with her and that she's still eating.

Yes, she is a CRF cat, but is on istin for her high blood pressure already. I asked the vet if this may be an issue, but because Spice's blood pressure was normal the last time she was treated and the fortekor would also reduce it, she didn't think it was likely to be a problem. She does think it may be something like 'Horner's syndrome' where the nerves to the eye are affected.

The vets do all agree that it is nearing the end of Spice's time with us, but are happy she is content at the moment, as are we.
