Onyx

One year ago today, she came for breakfast as usual, and vanished, never to be seen again.

For our newer members, she was a lovely little stray I'd been taking care of for 18 months. She was incredibly wary of people (prior abuse?), but after a long while came to trust and love me. My posts were full of milestones like "she let me pet her today", "she ate ham from my fingers". "she purred for the first time", etc. She was a very special little cat.

Onyx, whereever you are, Mom misses you and your rusty little purr very much.

Re: Onyx

Hard to believe it's been a year already. You're missed so much Onyx, but I hope you take so much Eileen, from the fact that she grew to trust you and know that humans could be kind.

Re: Onyx

Thanks, all. It's comforting to know she's remembered by those here who knew her and her story.

Re: Onyx

She is such a pretty cat Eileen.

I'm sorry to hear of your Onyx. Wherever she may be, her love and respect for you will live within your heart.

It must be so painful for you to always live in wonder.

Big hugs xxx
