Evidently the fields around Pontefract used to be full of growing liquorice - nowadays it's all imported. I wonder how hard it is to grow liquorice.

some Dutch relatives of our once brought some sweets over, they were all Liquorice, some was sweet and some salty as well as other differences, however all was horrible (to me at least )
