Calligraphy work

Here is the piece I've been working on. It is my entry for Art and the Letter, the 2015 exhibition organised by CLAS (Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society). Gone off with my tutor today!

The photo is not terribly good but gives an idea of what it looks like.

Re: Calligraphy work

Wow, Angie. That is absolutely beautiful, so clever. Looks to have been a huge amount of work gone into it. I would imagine it was VERY difficult to do. Love the background and the right hand indent. You are very talented, it must have taken an age to complete, you must be very proud.

Re: Calligraphy work

Thanks so much dinky. I am in my second year, one afternoon a week. It's a lovely group with none of the pressures that you get in "organised" adult education nowadays.

Re: Calligraphy work

Just to let you lovely folk know that I was awarded "Most Promising Beginner" in this year's Art and the Letter. I feel humble today when I found that my work appears on the CLAS website along with some stunning work from other people in different categories. Something indeed to aim for!
