I don't think I've ever come across anyone else with Gioachino either. Some spelling has 2 "c"s - not sure which is correct.

Yes, but some sources now say that is made up. Even tho' I think it makes sense.

Was it not something to do with 1st class passengers wanting/not wanting the sun in their cabins.
