Genetics

I'm trying to get my cat story completely accurate, but I'm a bit stuck with the genetics. The mum cat is a black and white, a cat from a previous litter is a tortoiseshell. If the black and white had mated with a ginger, could that have produced a tortoiseshell?

I'm going to have to change the story a little bit I think ...

Re: Genetics

I may be wrong, RCR - but I think almost any colour combinations are possible with moggies!

I've had a quick Google but of course most of the research is aimed at predicting colour in pedigree breeds.

Re: Genetics

Google was hopeless, it didn't explain anything very well.
