Re: Meet Dinky....

Dinky certainly lives up to her name, great idea Moli.

I have a little car, although not quite as small as Dinky. I fulled up with petrol troday and it cost me £39, not so long ago it cost about £30 to fill up. It's scary the way the cost of driving is so expensive now.

Re: Meet Dinky....

Dinky's lovely - great colours!

When I started my business 6 years ago, my then business partner had a grey and black one. We went to a few meetings in it; a bit hairy-scary on the motorway but otherwise a really nice little motor and not as small inside as you would imagine.

I must admit I was a bit cruel to him and used to joke and call it a wheelie bin

Re: Meet Dinky....

Small is beautiful but then being just 5' I am biased!
Loved my little Mini GT, back in the early 80's. Had a lot of oomph when called for

Re: Meet Dinky....

No Angie I don't have any pics of my Mini, unfortunately, it was in the days when I was a poor student (sob sob) and didn't own a camera then. I remember the reg number and everything; she was blue, had a small leather steering wheel fitted, bucket seats and for a 1300 engine could go a bit! Had the bad habit of cutting out in wet weather tho. Probs with the distributor cap, found out it was a small crack in the bakerlite but it cost me £££ to find that out!
I gave her up after qualifying, went in for a smart white Fiesta, with black n white check seats, very 60's retro. But I never felt the same about this one as I did about Mini.

Re: Meet Dinky....

Yes, what a clever young man. A great looking car. I do love the older minis still!

Oh yes, mine was blue too PP and used to cut out in wet weather until I found out it had a hair line crack in the distributor cap. I used to do all the mechanics on it that I could, with my dad's help. No computerised bits and bobs in those days - eeek sound like one of my old aunts!!!!
