Asthma Clinic

I think I posted a while ago about the nurse at my annual review saying that she would refer me to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic for help with my COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). My first appointment is tomorrow morning. I am a bit anxious, because I don't know what they'll do/what they'll ask me to do. Neither do I know how long I will be there. My appointment is at 10.30 and it's just fear of the unknown really.

Re: Asthma Clinic

It will be fine - probably ask you loads of questions and maybe test out your lung capacity.

It may be they can change or offer new/different meds to make life easier. I'm sure it will go ok. Try not to stress yourself out over it.

Good luck

CM

Hope it all goes well Angie. I'm sure it's just a re-assessment to make sure you're getting the best, most up to date treatment

Re: Asthma Clinic

I'm back already! It was a bit of a funny thing really, an assessment pre-assessment! I saw a nurse and she took details (which the surgery had already provided!) and said that she would put me on the waiting list for an assessment for the 6 week course in pulmonary rehabilitation. This won't be at least for another couple of months ......... I think it's just a ruse to get people off one waiting list on to another to meet those targets!!!!! Just wish they'd give more info when they send out the appointments.

Re: Asthma Clinic

I'm glad it wasn't too trying Angie. However, something a little more conclusive would have been nice. I think you're right about the waiting list thing - shame to have to be so cynical but unfortunately it's true
