BlueberriesI bought a couple of blueberry plants early this year and , because we live on chalk+++, have grown them in ericaceous compost in largeish tubs. They've been great, have grown like crazy from basically a handful of twigs, have produced berries and now are turning colour beautifully. here's a pic  Just thought I'd share. If you live on acid soil I'd say - go for it - simple, attractive and delicious!  If you live on chalk like me they seem to be quite happy in tubs.

We were doing well with the berries until Dinah discovered them and ate them as they ripened every day when she went out for her early morning wee!  between the two bushes I would think there were enough for a pie. Not bad for first year - i really didn't expect very much. Next year we'll have to concentrate on dog-training! |

I never realized the foliage on blueberry plants were so lovely! Hope you get a nice crop again next year and following years. |
