Friday night trip to the vets

Well I was all settled, dinner in the oven, Rayne in her bed, Philo on the sofa beside me and Milly lying at my feet, telly on and chilling.........
Then Philo sprang into action and jumped on top of Milly, I thought all was ok at first until Milly began to yowl and was dragging herself across the floor by her front legs.
Rang the vet and arranged to meet him at the surgery. Milly has had the head of her femur removed on her left leg several years ago now.
Milly wasn't at all in the humour for a major hands on examination but the vet doesn't think there is anything spinal, quite likely she has jarred that bad leg when trying to escape. Pain relief and rest, if I don't see her improving over the weekend, she will have to go in to be sedated so they can examine her properly.

Milly has had a restfull night, she has eaten a little but no evidence of her visiting her litter box. She has managed to get herself onto a low ledge of one of her beds. Havent witness her walking yet to see how she is on that leg.

Me too, I'd really like to see her walk so I can assess the situation but I don't want to force her.

Fingers crossed you will see Milly walking by the end of the day - what a worry, will be thinking about you and Milly. We are off to a dog show but will be back later to find out how things are going.

Re: Friday night trip to the vets

I went out to flyball training with the dogs and then took them over the dunes to tire them out so they would chill when we got home.
Milly had moved from one bed to another while I was out and had also eaten some food. Just sat with her and fed her a wee bit more which she was very happy about. Still not witnessed her movements though.
I spoke with the vet earlier, he is on call all weekend and said to call him if I was worried at all.
