My children dont get pocket money, but get things when they need it if they have been good. I tried the pocket money thing and it didnt really work out with me as I never really carry cash around with me.

My daughter is the most helpful one of the two - boys eh??!!

i give my 7 year old £4 a week, he does small chores for that, and gets nothing from me, he saves up for what he wants. For example he jsut saved for a year for an x-box. he gets his own sweets, comics etc. i buy his clothes

my children don't have pocket money.
they have things as and when they want/need them.
they sell the eggs from our chickens & that is "their" money, but it just builds up in the egg tin.

Re: Pocket money - how much do you give?

Mine don't have pocket money. They get money as and when they need it...which I think is more expensive for me than if I gave them an allowance My mum keeps Tom's mobile topped up and I top Em's up. My mum also sends them five or ten pounds each every few weeks.

Tom has just started a paper round. This will be once a week just round our local estate. So that will be a little extra money for him

My children dont get pocket money but they are still a little young yet (oldest is only 9)
they get money every day (50p) and some times they can have ice cream off the van if they have spent that but not every day. i will be starting pocket money soon with my oldest.
