I love this setting! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIo4N...eature=related

Sorry, skip the ad! I didn't realise that was in there as well!

I do like that one, yes, though it's not the one I'm thinking about... That one was done as a leader-response kind, and the one time I heard it the leader part was done by a soloist, and the response by the rest of the group.

Only thing I'm completely decided on is that I utterly detest "Last Christmas" and as I hear it each year I find myself wondering how on earth the person didn't learn from the last time...
Speaking of alternatives (off topic, I know, but it's my thread ) I love Madeline MacNeil's alternative melody to Auld Lang Syne in her Crowning of the Year album; very beautiful. The whole album is lovely.

Re: Favorite Christmas Songs

Sometimes to me the song is secondary to where I am and who I am with so my choice varies.

OK... Have given it a bit of thought. Some answers have to include:

From the squalor of a borrowed stable
Barrelling down the hill
The Star in the East/This Child

I forgot Mary's Boy Child, do like that one also, I'll add that to Cherry Tree Carol and Away in a Manger this year ... it does change.
