Coats on breeds that shed less?

We've all heard of dogs that shed less, like poodles and other curly haired breeds, but are there any cat breeds with coats of a similar nature?

I'd like to think that in the future Darren would allow me to get a cat, obviously i love Shelby, but theres little i can do with her without offending her owner, my housemate, especially as shes not allowed in the house due to the amount of shedding and the fact that she isnt litter trained.
Darren does love his animals, but hes very fond of his house! I'd like to approach him in the future about a cat that he would be ok with in the house, if i had it from a kitten training should be easy i guess, i'm highly attentive to that situation!
I wouldnt want to introduce another cat while Shelby is with us, but theres no harm in dreaming and researching!

Look at the Rex cats. Devon, Cornish and Selkirk. They have curly coats, some tighter than others. Or a Sphynx - no hair at all!

My sister has them as BIL is cat-allergic.
Lovely cats.
