Garden Project Photo Diary

This is the garden during last summer, shortly after we laid the 1st stage of the paving to give us a sunny seating area. We tried to lay new grass but this didn't survive during the winter, leaving hideous bald patches and the decision to pave the whole area. The garden is north-facing and the grass on the foreground is called 'Dairmuid' and was bought from Mr Gavin's Chelsea Flower Show exhibit last year.

Here are the pictures of the garden with path and lawn removed. It was ok for a couple of days but once Dominik had been over it with his 'digger lorries' it became a real nuisance This is the garden taken from the same angle as above:

And this is the garden from the bathroom window. Plants on the far left (apart from the purple spikey) have all been removed as this is where the wall is going . . . they'll be put back later.

Later I'll post some pics of the wall hubby's been building during this last weekend. We've used reclaimed bricks and I have to say they look really nice

It's going to look stunning! Not looking bad at all at the moment, either.
Does Dominik miss his digger-lorry playground much?

LOL Mags!!!!! I haven't been doing anything; just fetching glasses of cold water and beers for hubby who's been working his socks off poor love.

Hreow - Domi's in digger lorry heaven especially as after all the rain, the soil is less powdery and more 'diggable' Good job I've just got a new washing machine coz he's getting all his clothes super-dirty at the moment

Getting you out more is the whole point of a new garden, is it not?

That looks excellent - really good I love old/reclaimed bricks. Suits the style of the house brilliantly - I too adore works in progress.
