White cats and Frontline spot onI have just heard that you shouldn't use Frontline Spot On on white cats as it has been known to burn the skin. Just thought I would let you know.

Kay, Leia's a blue torbie but she had a strange reaction to the Frontline. She was about 8 months old when I spotted a few fleas on the cats; Dandy and Patches had no reaction whatsoever, but Leia jerked away and began rubbing and rubbing her eyes as if the scent/fumes, whatever was bothering them terribly. I have never used it since....and am a bit concerned as I've seen a few fleas since she killed the rat.....not sure what to use!? Right now am just flea-combing like mad! |

DM why not use a flea powder. Just a wee bit at a time. Then if there is a reaction you can stop. |

Or maybe put a flea collar in her bed? Take it out if you see the slightest reaction. They're supposed to hate lavender - do you think Leia could cope with a hankie with a few drops of lavender oil sitting in her bed? Mind, that won't kill the ******* so they'd probably come after you!  |

DM. Leia's bed is my (our) bed!  She never, ever sleeps in the cat bed! I think I'll try the flea powder..... |

Do you get program injections over there? I swear by them. I rarely have to use anything else as well. |

OK lol it's a treatment available in either injection form (which lasts up to 6 months) or as a liquid added to food (given once a month). It breaks the flea cycle by inhibiting chitin production in the eggs so the flea bites the poor kitty and then is rendered sterile as any eggs it lays will never hatch. The injection is only from vet surgeries but the liquid you can buy on line.
