The downside of having a large Japanese maple

There are thousands of leaves still up there and they all ..... need to be raked!!

View from the porch steps ... those fell overnight.

They are a gorgeous colour though! Mind, this comes from someone who hasn't swept leaves much... and suffered lots through school years with the lack of the same - the rain came down and it all got a little smelly...

.... and slippery!

I'd never get rid of the tree though because of the fall. I am a great lover of maples especially! Luckily my OH sweeps the leaves. Does your kindly neighbour do it for you Eileen?

Oh I love that tree, would never get rid of it! If I'm lucky my neighbor Jim with the leaf blower will do it, otherwise I just get out the trusty rake! They do make a lovely colorful carpet, don't they?

I think you are very lucky Eileen ........ Mother Nature doesn't lay a red carpet on everyone's front path!

Trees can be very lucky though. I already have little budlets forming on my goat willow!

It's a promise I hold to.
