Re: Daily thread ~ Saturday

This may be an extremely silly question, but does Posh watch TV at all? Could you play her a video/DVD of natural world with birds or small scuttly things. Would she watch it or ignore it completely?

I read ages ago about an experiment with recuperating hospitalised cats where similar videos were played which perked them up much quicker than those who had nothing to watch!

Yola great to hear you're home improving too! The underwater theme sounds amazing, I would have loved something like that when I was younger And an en suite bathroom! Isn't he lucky?

I've just been painting (in my other thread) and enjoying the flat to myself! It's a lovely fresh day here, very chilly, but no rain hurrah! Am looking forward to a Marks and Spencers Pizza later whilst watching a Timewatch programme on BBC2, 8pm I think, on the young Queen Victoria. I'm going through a Victorian-era-mania at the moment! Re-reading 'The Crimson Petal and the White', a Neo-Victorian novel which focusses on prostitution in a black comedy way but can be very graphic! But certainley not pornography. Anyway, reading that after Anna Karenina is making me feel very romantic and has created the sudden urge to wear a corseted dress and lace up boots Oh and pearl-drop earrings Think I'll hunt out some Edith Wharton after this...

Hope everyone's having a great day! Kazz, very intrigued as to where and what you ended up doing!

Meep, you and Yola are very welcome to come and make-over my old house I have no design skills at all!
I 'll try the telly waching experiment with Posh, Angie. At the moment OH has rugby on and just like her mamma, she has absolutely NO interest in it!
Funnily enough, she seems to know when I'm on Catsey and comes into the room to see what's occurring!

Re: Daily thread ~ Saturday

Afternoon from chilly Washington: 12 degrees!! But sunny, thank goodness. Did the Saturday library run, nothing special planned. Re TV and cats...none of mine except my Siamese have ever paid the slightest attention to it, even the nature shows; I've heard that about the cat videos but never tried. All the decorating going on...do you think it's the nesting instinct setting in as we as we approach the cold, dark months?

Kazz: what did you do, don't keep us on tenterhooks!
Meep: re Victorian fiction, have you read any Wilkie Collins? He's written others besides Woman in White and The Moonstone...very good IMO! And contemporary fiction set in that era: Anne Perry's novels!

Hope the poorly ones are improving; haver a nice day, all!

Re: Daily thread ~ Saturday

Lord I feel terrible now.............because I did not do anything interesting as such just decided to take Sal out went with Lewis (nephew who is and took my Dad as well and we Lewis and I went for a great walk in Sutton park, Lewis rode his bike I walked with Sal Dad sat in the car and read the papers adn did his crossword......then we watched the "model plane" club although the planes they had
were like real thing. And then another walk and back home sorry nothing that interesting.

Oh went looking for tiles for the bathroom ready for the "revamp" saw loads but could not decide think I've settles on Marble though more than likely cream as its a small bathroom..........but that could change. as I carry on looking.....I did notice my taste is for the more expensive but isn't everyones?

Sounds like everyone has had a lovely day Meep the decorating sounds great. Yola the room sounds fabulous....you should take a trip to the beach and let him collect some pebbles and seashells...and maybe take some pictures himself then put them on the wall. Maybe find an old surf board on ebay or something and turn it into a shelf or headboard.......

Glad everyone has had a good day.
