Increasing levels of vomitting

Balie has always been a bit of a puker. However in recent days it has been 2 or 3 times a night and he's just eaten some biscuits and thrown them up all over the stairs and my bedroom floor . Usually the vomit contains some element of furball.

I'm a little concerned about this but as he is happy to eat as normal, not loosing any weight and seems much the same in every other way, would I be over-reacting to run to the vet bearing in mind he has a health check booked for the 5th of March?

He's 10 years old. Does any of the above sound familiar or ring any alarm bells??

Re: Increasing levels of vomitting

My previous siamese Sam had the same problem, he did not chew his food, and no sooner had he eaten them they came back up, I used to soften them with warm water..

My Broxi has a tendancy to throw up his biscuits, usually he has eaten them too fast, and as they are dry he can't swallow them quick enough! Typical male, thinks with his stomach, lol! I would try moistening them too.

I think as long as Balie is drinking he should be OK but you might want to book an appointment to make sure.

I had this with Lucky but of course she was very elderly. The vet at the time suggested raising her food bowl on the yellow pages and I have to admit that it did help a little. Hope it's nothing to worry about Yola x

Jac is the one who vomits most here, shes 12, I think its because she either gulps or gets scared. I hope it stops soon x

Balie is a 2 yellow pages cat!!!

But it could be, as Julie says, nerves. He is no.1 scaredy cat. He'll be off to the vet in 10 days unless he takes a turn for the worse.

Tizzie was a terrible puker.
I wouldn't bring forward his appointment unless he appears unwell. x

It is widely suggested to rais the bowls of CRF cats etc. I used to do this for Winston and found that it did help a fair bit.
All the best to you and Bailie xxx
