Re: Are you a Turkey or a Goose

I've always heard that goose is quite greasy and that there's not really that much meat on the bones. Don't know anyone who's ever cooked it; I'd be interested in reading comments. I did do a pheasant years ago for Thanksgiving...never again !!!t

Re: Are you a Turkey or a Goose

Where can you get goose fat if you haven't cooked one? Don't remember ever seeing it in the market...I think goose is more popular there than in the States...very Dickensian!

Re: Are you a Turkey or a Goose

Kazz, just did a search and found one site here that has goose fat: 7 oz. for $8.11, plus S & H. Seems a bit pricy. Did find a few UK sites that have it, though. Think I'll continue to baste my roast potatoes with the chicken fat.......

Re: Are you a Turkey or a Goose

They sell it in tins in the supermarket here, it's quite dear, I paid £2.99 for a tin, but it's well worth it for a special occasion.......

Mine came in a glass jar, rather like a small jam jar and was quite expensive but can't remember what I paid for it now. I bought it in Asda - my local supermarket
