cat litter everywhere - any solutions?Hi! Since getting our new boy we have one problem that is when he goes to do his thing he burries it and while doing it the litter (bentonit stuff) flies everywhere  Any suggestions (besides cleaning it up which I am doing)? Do you think a tray with higher sides (that is deeper tray) would help? Or do cats avoid them (asking because I haven't seen kitty trays with elevated sides, I am thinking about buying a rectangular storage box from local hardware store... Anybody had a cat doing this? Thx

Both My Cats Do This, One More So Than The Other. They Both Clear The Part Of The Tray They Are Going To "poo" In Before Doing It, So that's Its Down To The Plastic!! They Then Try And Cover It All Up, Sometimes if ime lucky, Without Treading In It. Not So Much If They Wee!! Ive Never Been Able To Stop Them Except If Ime Actually There, Then I Pick Them Up Before They Excavate!! Sorry Cann't Help You. Ive Just Had To Clean Up The Mess!! Good Luck!! |

My cat has a hooded litter tray which confines the litter perfectly. You can buy them with flaps or without ........ Cassie's tray is without a flap. |

Some are very enthusiastic buriers! Higher sides or a hooded tray might do the trick. |

A washing up bowl works wonders! They're all deeper than any litter trays I've seen. Saw a litter tray in Poundland recently which has an inverted lip which comes an inch or so into the tray, thus preventing litter being pushed out of the side, can't say that I've tried this but it looks good for mild to moderate 'litter-kicking-out'. |

I have hooded cat litter trays for both mine as Tiger will scatter it far and wide if he got the chance  |

i have a hooded tray aswell, i leave the flap on. sometimes pip still manages to kick it out the door tho! |

I have one that has a lip as mags described. It does help but I agree a hooded one is best for a determined flicker |
