Re: Daughter bumped her head

I hope Ashleigh is okay today Smudgley! And they should definitely have warning tape around the poles!

Re: Daughter bumped her head

Hope Ashleigh is OK today. If she has nausea or giddiness today she should go to A&E for a precautionary x-ray.
You should take some action about the scaffold - don't know what but I think the council is the place to ask.

Re: Daughter bumped her head

Thanks everyone.
She was crying this morning & complaining about her head.
I didn't know where to go with her..
hospital / doctors / NHS direct
I decided to call NHS direct (have used them before & can only praise their proffessionalism & service) they got a nurse to call me back & she was a paediatric nurse who had worked on a head injuries / trauma unit.
She was very helpful & reasurring & asked lots of questions.
Ashleigh was feeling a bit better after some medicine & we have sent her to school & I've been to see the teachers just incase she is unwell at all.
My husband is contacting the council today for advice - he also has the scaffold company details & will persue the matter with them, even if it's just to let them know what's happened.

Re: Daughter bumped her head

That sounds a nasty accident. Hope Ashleigh is getting over it and hope you get somewhere with your complaint.

He spoke to a lady at the council, who said she would send someone out & as there had been an accident it would be classed as a priority. Haven't heard anything since.

My brother-in-law is a Quantity surveyor & he says that you have to have a permit to put scaffold on the pavement & that the scaffold company will be liable.

I'll keep you posted.

Ashleigh is ok, has a good bump on her head though!

Make sure you take pics of her head Smudgley, just in case they try to deny anything!
