I can't remember what breed your Martha is CM. Are they generally good broodys? I know what you mean about lack of info on natural chicken rearing. As you say, it's all incubators.

Ooh - Different breeds lay different numbers. Battery hens lay around 250 to 280 a year and are only kept as layers for around 20 months so I guess 450?
