Re: New kitchen - works in progress

Well, the chimney has now been supported in the ceiling and the ceiling has been boarded over, so a little progress. That has taken all day as the support work was unexpected Just needs plastering over and coving to go up!

Re: New kitchen - works in progress

Latest update on my kitchen is:

Saturday - kitchen all arrived taking up all of my dining room

The builder is supposed to start Tuesday so I have literally cleared EVERYTHING out of my kitchen - food, cupboards, dishes, plates, equipment etc etc. All that junk that just piles up

Spent ALL today clearing up.

Just had a phone call from the builder to say that could he start Thursday now and not Tuesday as he has another "emergency" job. Not impressed at all. He is putting the other job before me as he knows my job is a guarantee etc cos he knows me. Not a happy bunny at the moment.

Aw that's just not on, is it Donna! Why do builders have a habit of messing you around with all these 'emergency' jobs? I hope you let him know that you weren't happy about it......a kitchen is one room that needs to be done first. How will you manage about getting your meals?

At the moment I have all appliances working, as the actual kitchen is still intact. I have spent all day emptying the cupboards. All the food is in carrier bags, the cups and plates are in the bathroom, etc etc. It is just gonna be a complete pain to live like that for more than I originally thought.
