Board gamesI'm sure we've all played board games in our time, so which ones have been your favourites through the years? My favourite childhood game was the traditional Snakes and Ladders..  Then when my own children were young, it was Downfall, Connect 4, Game of Life and Monopoly.The game that has stayed with me throughout the years is Scrabble, I never tire of playing that.. It will be interesting to read about the games that you enjoyed...

Loved snakes & ladders as a child, we now play monoploy quite a lot, as well as cludo, and the one where you build up the wooden blocks and try to remove them without knocking them all over.... |

When we had small children in the house we found Snakes and Ladders really useful for teaching them that you can't always win and that you had to learn how to lose graciously. It was a bit of an uphill lesson with my son!!(birth sign Aries!) A great family favourite here is Sorry, anyone else know it? It's based on Ludo but you draw cards to determine the moves and you can ambush the other players, move backwards and swap places. I was given this game when I was young and 48 years later it's still going strong although the box is looking a bit tatty. |

I used to love ludo. Even more so than snakes and ladders. My brother was a habitual cheat/sulker if loosing so I played mainly with my parents. Dominik now loves snakes and ladders and I'm just starting to teach him the concept of ludo. Pre-teens and early teens I got into draughts and chess. It was a Sunday morning ritual (post church and pre lunch - that was before we had Sunday retail to keep us occupied  ).Now I love scrabble. Sometimes we theme it to make it harder. Have just bought connect 4 for Dominik for his birthday. This was a game I really wanted as a child but never had  |
