Re: To smoke or not to smoke...

I smoked for 15 years, gave up for 1 year, then started again and smoked for 1 year, then gave up again.

Haven't smoked since.. Oh not completely true. I smoked half a ciggie on my 30. birthday and a couple of drags (is that wot its called in english?) when I was in Birmingham.

I blame that on AM, she gave it to me It didnt taste very well though...

I can miss it sometimes, but never enough to begin again.

Re: To smoke or not to smoke...

I'm a fire sign and I used to smoke up to 60 a day and have now given it up its been just over 3 years since I gave up (I can't remember the exact time that I gave up) - it was really difficult at first but now I can't believe I was ever a smoker - I am one of those really bad ex-smokers that every-one hates

Love smoking my pipe, well one of seven. And i really enjoy a good cigar in the evening. As for giving up, not in this life time, i enjoy it far too much.

I hate smoke and have never, ever been tempted. Sadly, as a Marie Curie (cancer care) nurse I have all too often see the results of smoking. It really does kill.....

Kim, EVERYTHING kills. Better to burn out, than fade away, as the quote goes.

I too have seen many effects of smoking - smoking related illness and death due to smoking (not only cancer) during my 20 odd years as a registerd nurse. I still enjoy my ciggies though and whilst I do worry about the effect it is having on me, I would still, despite the horrible things I have seen, find it very difficult to give up
