Monday 21st December

Brrrrrrrrr - cold and wet here today. Very grey, precipitation of some sort - rain/sleet/hail. Altogether very horrid and still icy underfoot. After last Friday, we were very happy to see MIL's carer made it today and said the main roads are OK.

I have been feeling a bit under the weather (!) as I am taking iron tablets for anaemia and although they are not making me feel sick, I do feel "odd" and am putting it down to the pills. Silly to say that I feel cold nearly all the time, unless I'm snuggled up in bed .................. so's everyone else!

Kizzy and Pip have been hilarious this morning, playing with the activity centre and the tunnel (best toy for them so far) and I have been fiddling around with Fotoflexer trying to get my Catsey Christmas greetings done. Never thought I'd make it - have been trying with GIMP but sometimes things are just too complicated for what I want to do and I managed OK with Fotoflexer in the end.

More washing today, and trying to keep warm. OH didn't go to play golf (and is very glad he didn't).

Keep safe and warm everyone. More bad weather for some in the week to come, but will there be a WHITE CHRISTMAS?????

Shall we start a Poll?

Re: Monday 21st December

It's snowing like fury here. I think we're going to have to let everyone go home soon as being in the sticks it's going to be struggle getting back for most. It's actually moving beyond fun and becoming rather disruptive.

Have bought my second-from-last pressie today at lunchtime . . . just OH left but at the moment I'm in 2 minds as to whether to bother as he's being such a grump

I'm thinking we might be up for a white Christmas; the forecast is looking cold for the rest of the week! Not too pleased as I'm going to have to go and get my Mum from London tomorrow night . . .

Re: Monday 21st December

Hi, all. It will definitely be a White Christmas here, between what fell during the blizzard and now there's a chance of a mixed bag Christmas Eve: snow, sleet, freezing rain!! Bah humbug!

Still waiting for the plumber to fix the boiler, am without heat and the house is bitterly cold. Slept under two quilts and a hot water bottle last night, and the sun isn't very strong so not warming the house much. I'm quite grumpy, and Leia doesn't understand why her radiators aren't warm. More later.... off to call the plumber again .....

Edited: "On the way" .....

Oh Eileen - now's the time to use that transmat beam. You would be very welcome to come and sit by the fire and warm yourself. Hope that plumber hurries up.

Re: Monday 21st December

Woo hoo, the heat is coming on! The plumber was here from just before noon till a little after 4; apparently it was complicated. Poor Leia has been very distracted by the lack of a warm radiator and the strange man in her basement banging, pounding and going to and from his truck. We are both very relieved!

Angie, during the coldest part of the day a warm fire and a good stiff drink sounds like heaven! Wish they would hurry up and invent the matter transmitter.....

Re: Monday 21st December

5 1/2 hours to get back from the office tonight and the traffic on our hill outside in completely chaos with buses stuffed into parked cars, police pushing cars up over the icy road surface and the whole town gridlocked. It's been snowing since lunchtime and this is the result

Will update with pics tomorrow as I'll probably be at home if it's like this.
