Halloween - what are you doing?

Well are you going to a party for Halloween? or going trick or treating with the children?

And do you dress up your house? I do I adore it - the house gets decorated and most of my neighbours pop out talking and the kids come and go from around and about with the parents trick or treating - brings out community relationships and makes the older people feel safer - most of us supplying hot chocolate, hot dogs and baked potatoes to the rest of the neighbours - we discovered the older and some younger unsure people found it unnerving so the rest of us decided to make it more of a street party.

Works for us. I have posted this because I was just stopped by three groups of children from round here who were checking I was decorationg the house this year again. I have to have seperate food stuffs for some children who have "food intolerances" so they can join in too.

So Happy Halloween everyone.

Karen

I am going to hide with the cats!!!! lol

Actually Kazz it sounds as if you have a great time, it is a shame really but where I like (small quiet village) most of them are pensioners.

So how about an invite

I usually take the children out trick or treating. This year Tom is going with his friends and doesn't want me cramping his style So I'll probably just escort Em and her friends this year

If you want the children to call put a Halloween poster or somthing in the window on the door and they'll come.

Re: Halloween - what are you doing?

ah good idea but i think the reason why they dont do it like we did when we were little is because times have changed and parents either dont like bothering complete strangers during the night or theyre too worried about whos going to open the door, which is a shame

i guess it works better in smaller communities and not a big city like where we are
