My Vet is amazing!!

One of my young POL hens was a bit poorly this morning. Very sleepy and listless. Not much response when I opened up the coop to let them all out.

I could hear a gurgly breathing. I was obviously really concerned and called the vet. Was told to pop down with her right away.

End result is he is unsure but thinks she may have some kind of a blockage/obstruction in her crop. She has to have a jag every day for 4 days and a tablet each day for a week.

Problem is OH and myself are off for a few days break tomorrow and I know the person looking after them won't be able to give the meds or take her to the vet each day.

My vet's solution - 'leave her with me, I'll take her home, she can live in the conservatory - I've missed my hens so it'll be nice to have one for a wee while'

How fantastic is he????

Your vet certainly is good, you can go away now knowing your hen will be well looked after...

Hope you enjoy your few days break, CM

What a nice man! You can go off for some needed R & R knowing the little hen will be in the best of care.
