Shortage of salt and grit during the freeze..

Grit supplies are dwindling and salt is quickly disappearing from the supermarket shelves ............ so what can we use on our paths to stop us slipping?

Cat litter and dishwasher tablets! It's proving to be a popular alternative to combat the slip and slide

Yeah Cat litter is good and another tip is sharp sand its not as good as rock salt but it had "grit in it" and ain't bad for letting your tyres/feet get a grip.

I'm out of ice-melt and had to use litter on the icy steps after the storm; worked fine for traction,
