Is a laptop worth it only looking to pop on dogweb/catpages maybe a few other sites and sendand receive emails no downloading music etc etc etc
So is it worth it and whats the minimum spec I should be looking for?

Re: Laptops are they worth it?

Hi Karen...I personally would not go back to having a desktop pc now. Laptops are so versatile....God alone knows the amount of times I talk to you lot from my bed

PC world are offering some very good deals at the minute, some basic but perfectly adequate laptops for £399 infact my friend was saying today they had some as low as £349 I am not sure of the spec though but for what you seem to be wanting to do with it then I would say you would be quite ok buying one of these cheaper models

Re: Laptops are they worth it?

I only have had laptops. The only problem I have had are battery problems, but that is probably down to me leaving my pc on standby all the time. The battery dies then the pc dies. At the moment I am using a friend's laptop cos my other one has completely died. It is only a year old and have had problems all along.

Apart from the above you cannot knock the convenience of a laptop. At mo I am on the sofa whilst watching TV, later I will take it upstairs when I go to bed!

Just make sure the processor speed is not too slow as I find that the most annoying thing.

Re: Laptops are they worth it?

I usually run my laptop off the mains so don't tend to have battery probs. Tend to only run it on the battery if moving it to the printer/fax or using it in the garden in summer...
