Celebrating Tom

Tom, you have only been gone two days, what a gap you have left. How we wish we could stroke your soft fur again or catch a glimpse of you peeping around the door. To hear you purr or watch you leap and catch the architrave creatures.
Who will lie beneath the cat flap and guard us at night?
You had the sweetest nature and never once bit or scratched, you were so tolerant of the pesky Dogs.
Whenever we sat in the garden you would be close by keeping us company.
You happily trotted along when we walked the Dogs in the evening, darting into gardens when danger lurked and then suddenly reappearing when the coast was clear. If we walked further than you wanted to go, you waited on the pavement until we returned.
You loved catnip and rolled around on the floor after a few whiffs, if a toy mouse lay nearby you gave it some grief.
Opening the fridge door would bring you running, you were always hopeful of getting some cat milk and screamed with delight when you saw the bottle.
We will never forget you Tom and you will always be with us in our thoughts.
Run free and be happy until we meet again.

Re: Celebrating Tom

That's a lovely tribute to Tom, Shelley. Bet it fits him to a "T". One day you will find that you can remember all those lovely times and smile, rather than cry.

RIP Tom, safe in the arms of Gaia until your people join you again.
