PC explanations for countryfolk


Log on = More firewood on the stove
Log off = Cool it down
Monitor = Keep an eye on the fire
Download = Take firewood off the truck
Mega Hertz = When you drop a log on your foot
Floppy Disk = From overstraining your back
Ram = Male sheep
Hard Drive = Getting down the farm track in snow
Windows = To be shut when cold outside
Byte = What an angry animal might do
Chip = Snack
Microchip = Little snack
Dot Matrix = DotComs name once she married Mr Matrix
Laptop = Where the cat sleeps
Keyboard = To hang the machinery keys safely
Mouse = Eats the grain in the barn
Mainframe = Holds up the barn roof
Click = Sound of cocking your gun
Double Click = When you really mean business
Reboot = So you can go outside again

file = clean your horses teeth
copy and paste = put up some more'Fight the Ban' posters
browse = eat the grass
software = fleece for orphaned lambs
plug-in = get the calf to suck
usenet = go ferreting
