Christmas decorations - when do you put them up?I normally wait till about the 15th or so. You?

December 1st! And take them down on new years eve. So they are up the whole month of December. |

We put ours up two weeks before Christmas .......... I've had my first Christmas card already!  |

Will be later this year though as we are still painting the living room so will probably put them up this weekend. |

Usually somewhere around the 2nd weekend in December (used to be much later but pester power once again has triumphed)  We only really decorate the tree now. However in the past OH used to put lots of fresh ivy, holly and dried oranges over the mantlepieces. Might revisit that one for this year . . . not sure yet. |

We usually put our tree up about 10 days before Christmas Day and it stays up until Twelfth Night. When our children were young we used to make loads of paper chains and decorate the windows with various cut-outs and squirty artificial snow, such a mess! Now it's just the tree, holly wreath at the front door and candles on the mantlepiece. |

I do as MrsH above - tree, holly wreath and candles and maybe a table decoration freshly made on Christmas Eve. We usually put up the tree about 10 days before and take down on Twelfth Night too. When I was a very small child, I used to go to bed on Christmas Eve to a completely normal house and when I came down on Christmas morning, all the decorations had been done by my Dad. I remember he so wanted to make me think that the fairies had been busy during the night! |

Normaly the 2nd week in Dec but the only free weekend we've got this year is the 6th so they'll be going up then. |
