i agree
but at least you've had some distraction today and over there the day is nearly over now and you can have a nice sleep and hopefully have your boy back in the morning or soon at least!

Hi everyone - just to update - I phoned the vet this morning, Pip is doing well and I have an appointment to talk through findings and pick him up this afternoon at 3.50.

Thanks so much for all your support, you've been splendid!

You must be so relieved he's coming home today

Hope the discussion with the vet goes well and you get to find out exactly what happened and why.

Re: Positive healing vibes for Pip please

Good News: Pipski-Popski Pip is HOME. He seems well. Diagnosis is suspected urethritis. He has come home with anti-inflammatory (Metacam); anti-spasmodic (Dibenyline) and anti-biotic (Nisamox). He has a follow up appointment in a week's time.

The vet hopes (as do I) that it's a one-off. There seem to be no other indicators/symptoms. The vet I saw today was the one who catheterised him on Saturday and said that he initially had a bit of trouble getting the penis to elongate, but after that it was fine. He thinks this very likely to be the cause. I have to keep a close watch on him. (Pip, not the vet!!!!! - just re-read that bit!)

My lovely boy is still lovely and affectionate. He's been drinking from the tap too - how I have missed him. He's already been nose to nose with Monty and no growling by either party. (OK, the child gate thing was between them!)
