Camera Advice needed

I'm looking to get a new digital camera but don't really have a clue what is decent these days

I need an idiot proof camera that is capable of a decent photo and preferably some type of action shot. I want to take photos of Bubbles doing some of the very cute things she does but typically won't pause in her activity to let me take one

Any advice would be gratefully received

I'm going to defer to the experts on here! But I'm very pleased with the Nikon L2 Coolpix that I got last year; it's a simple point-and-shoot thing without a lot of bells and whistles; not too sure about the action bit, but it caught what I think was a great shot of Leia in mid-leap from the windowsill.....(Leia doesn't do "action" that much!......); didn't think it could do that! And it is reasonably priced too, I paid about $149.00 here.......

Aww hehe that sounds cool My old camera is just useless for any kind of movement or you just end up with a blur.

This is the pic I was talking about: it caught her in mid-jump!

Wow nice photo!!

I'd forgotten a good friend of mine is a camera buff so I asked his advice. My wonderful hubby said he would put some money into it as well so we have ordered this camera

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DM...d_i=1000081503

Can't wait for it to arrive now!!
