Friday again

afternoon all.
Been very busy lately settling in the new pup. He's doing very well and has only been got at by Jerry once
I have noticed that Malaika tends to leave Tom alone more now due to having a canine friend.
Kwame can't be left for very long at the moment so am feeling a bit tied to the house. Malaika and myself managed a quick walk to spar, leaving him in his crate. I warned my neighbour about the screaming. When we returned he wa asleep.
Another neighbour from across the road came into the front garden and sprayed my mechanical garden ornament with wd40
It is a little bird on a windmill that goes around in the wind. I was aware that it squeaked and whirred a bit and quite enjoy the rythmic sound.
He doesn't and it has been driving them nuts, think he's only just discovered it was our ornament
He wasn't angry and came across as a bit of a joke realy but i did check with our neighbour next door and she can't hear it at all.

Re: Friday again

Hi Shelley. Sounds like fun and games where you are. Glad that Kwame and Malaika are getting on so well.

Over here, has been a quiet day. I got quite a pile up of dishes sorted, and Dad fixed a bulb for me. Other than that, couldn't get on here all morning - seemed to have an issue with database or something. Oh well, least it's working again now!

Re: Friday again

Afternoon Shelley! Glad to hear Kwame is settling steadily. Funny about your mechanical ornament and the WD40 - great stuff that!

It's clouding over now and the temp is dropping, but it has been a glorious morning. OH and I have planted out 20 lavender plants and I have pruned two clematis, still have one to do. Going to have my hair cut in a while - MIL's hairdresser's last visit.

Amazing news from the nursing home - OH phoned this morning to find out how his mum was settling. She has been going into the lounge to watch TV, has made friends and goes into the dinning room for her meals. You could have knocked us over with a feather - all these years she has been OK with people she knew but not a very sociable lady at all. I am SO PLEASED FOR HER and relieved too. It's wonderful if she can be happy.

Have a good Friday peeps.

I am sure all of us are thinking about the terrible natural disaster in Japan and of the consequences there may be elsewhere. My thoughts and sympathies go out to all those affected.

Hi there Squirrel!

Re: Friday again

Nice to hear your MIL is settling in so well Angie, that must be such a relief.

Kwame also seems to have settled in well, puppy days are sooooo tiring!

Went to GP's this afternoon and we've decided between us to get my gallbladder removed, I told him I wanted it done between my examination class finishing their course and OH and me going on holiday, so that's late May to late June. He laughed and said he'd see what he can do First step is an appointment with specialist at the hospital (GP referred to him as "God" so I wonder what sort of egomaniac he'll turn out to be? ) I hope they can manage my schedule, if we're getting a new puppy in the Autumn I want all this behind me.

Angie, thats great news about your MIL,

Shelley, sounds like fun at yours with the new pup, and that was nice of the neighbour to oil your ornament

MrsH, fingers crossed your op gets done when you requested for it..

Ive been working today, not long in. Finally got a full nights sleep last nice since we got Skye, both kitties slept right through except for Harris having a meow about 5am when i got up to the bathroom. We have a family dinner tonight for OH's nana's 80th birthday.

It's by no means certain. Morgan's sister was kept by the breeder and she's possibly having a litter later this year. Their mother was a black and white and Morgan's sister might be mated with a black and white boy so there's a good chance of B&W puppies. I would have ideally liked to wait another year but this chance might not come round again, I would love a B&W boy and would only go back to the same breeder. She's not had many B&Ws before but this breeding combination makes it quite likely.

Re: Friday again

Hi all! Rain finally over, got 1.85" here in the City; cloudy now, 6 C (42 F) and March winds. Looks to be a sunny reasonably mild weekend coning up.

I'm surprised at how upset I was to hear of Rover's passing; he was a very special cat, and his two legs wrote the must enchanting stories of his adventures; she hasn't been on in ages but I often thought of Rover ....

Angie, that is SUCH good news about MIL, OH must feel much better. Shelley, I think that neighbor was a bit nervy to come on your property like that!! Should have asked first IMO! MrsH, hope you can het the slot you want for the op, and I too wonder about a new pup???? Glad you got a good sleep, Pamela, Squirrel, glad you finally got on!

Have a great day, peeps!

Re: Friday again

Okay a busy daily today. So here I go replying first then my news.

Shelley I laughed out loud when I read Another neighbour from across the road came into the front garden and sprayed my mechanical garden ornament with wd40
Seriously seriously funny.
Puppies do have a habit of tying you to the house you forget quite quickly don't you. Glad all is going well between them.
Squirrel - Sounds like a nice quiet day.
Angie - Superb news do you think her dementia has brought about the change in her personality. Letting her barriers down so to speak therefore making friends/aquaintances easier than before? Plus having something to do will have made it more sociable for her bingo group meals etc. Maybe she needed that distance as much as you and your husband did. I bet your hubby is pleased she has settled, I am.

Mrs H "good" news about the operation, and my GP spoke of my Consultant as "God" regarding my hysterectomy last year yet a nicer an I have yet to meet.
And whats this about a puppy NO mention of a puppy has been written on here previously.........SECRETS eh? Will the pup be a dog or a bitch? Names?

Pamela - enjoy your meal sounds lovely.

Eileen - Rover ? have I missed something? will check the posts. Hope you are good and Leia is enjoying the mild weather on the porch or not?

Anyhow this is my day meet Liz and the gorgeous gorgeous adorable, smiley Erin at Crufts and had an enjoying late morning wandering around with them. Angie mentioned to Liz about stealing a schnauzer while at the discover dogs stand for them but decided against it. Got you some info while there will post it to you and snapped a couple of pictures too. Will post after dinner.
Had a most enjoyable day and a pleasure to meet Liz she is so nice. And Erin what can I say adorable. Thank you for the pleasure of your company. Hope you were not too bored.

Brought a new lead for Sal in kangaroo leather.

See you all later
