Desperate x2 female cats

I have had cats all my life. I had them through both pregnancies and they were and have always been a big part of my children's life and I think they are better adults for it. If my health visitor had said such scaremongering things to me, she would have been shown the door very quickly.

I'm sorry, but I simply can't understand why any new mum would get rid of their pet. If they intend to do that as soon as a baby comes along, why have a cat in the first place?? My kids were very healthy as children and neither have suffered from asthma or eczema, so clearly being brought up in a multi cat and later dog household never did them any harm!!

Please don't think I disagree with your views .... I can just see how some new mums could be "bullied" into almost anything by someone in "authority".

I see your point, Angie, and agree some people might be intimidated by authority, especially someone young or not too well educated. But to give up your cat ... I have trouble with that; agree 100 % with Kim and Alex. Growing up with cat, dogs, a little dirt and mess has proven to help a healthy immune system.

I grew up with a longhaired tortoiseshell and never had any problems.

I can understand how some young mums might feel intimidated into it (although I was only 23 myself), but as these cats are 14 yrs old, it doesn't seem to be the case. Poor babies, I so wish I could take them on myself

These girls have a possible home the only problem is these girls are in st helens and the new home is in essex, if anyone can help form a transport train please contact debbie, her number is in the first post
