Misty's Operation

Well the time came for our little kitten to have her Spay operation

As expected she didn't take too happily to having to wear the plastic collar. Plus she has been allergic to the dissolvable stitches which didn't help matters . However the end is in sight - she was meant to wear the collar for 14 days but was so miserable we took it off her after 9 days and she has been good about leaving her stitches alone. Here are some pics of our gorgeous brave little girl.

Trying to sleep in the awful collar

Take it off mum - pleaseeeeee

Feeling happier and more relaxed with the collar off

Day 11 and allowed outside in the run - no interest in posing - freeeeee

Wee poppet - glad that's over for her Velvet. And for you too. Her scar does look red and a bit sore. Poor sweetie.

i'm glad Misty is ok. Her collar was very pretty with the paw prints but i'm sure she didn't appreciate it. Hope she recovers quickly.

Re: Misty's Operation

Aww, she is gorgeous! My 8 month old was neutered a few weeks ago and, though thankfully neutering is a lot easier than spaying, he was quite a shadow of his former self after it. I am lucky he wasn't a girl because he could not keep the collar on for 2 mins, no joke. It took us ten minutes to put on while he screamed and writhed and then he just ripped it off!

The vet said we had to keep it on for two hours, so they got us to buy a very expensive, soft 'comfy' inflatable one! No success. Luckily they let us return it.

Good luck with her recovery, she is such a pretty cat! I would recommend Hills Prescription food specially easy on the tummy. Our vets gave it to us and it soved his toilet problems that followed the operation.

Haven't heard of a boy having to wear a collar. I bought a Comfy collar but didn't work, she could get at her stitches. Plastic one had to go back on. I think they are torture to these little cats

Ours eat the Hills dry foods. Adults get the Sensitive diet and kittens the kitten food. They love it. They also get Felix wet food first thing in the mornings.
