Re: Amber has mastitis

I am not an expert on nursing cats by any stretch but I wouldnt have thought the anti biotics would stop her eating. My experience is that pain and nausea are prime reasons for inapatence. Please dont let this go on as cat go anorexic very fast which will affect the liver very quickly.
Personally I would get on the phone to the vet and start asking about pain releif if you think she is in pain and or nausea meds if she is lip smacking or showing signs that she wants to eat but just cannt.
Try to get as much food into her as possible, little and often, try warming the food, try as many tasty treats and strong smelling foods as you can. Fluids are important too, is she drinking? Maybe some cat milk or Cimicat would help.
I'm sure Kay or some of the others may have some better advice but I hope she begins to eat very soon xxxx

Re: Amber has mastitis

Hi
Dont know if this will help but a few weeks ago my cat jake had some sort of virus and wouldn't eat. So i got a syringe warmed some baby food up and gave him that. He seemed to like it it might be worth a try. Mandy
