Socks's prayer.

This is a poem I wrote for english class when Socks was in the vet hospital with the antifreeze. I made a really good grade on it and it and Socks was fine so it is a win/win for me

I was confused,afraid,upset and alone
I had just lost my Mom to beer
I had just lost my home.
I couldn't cry
I couldn't even see
I couldn't even try
I couldn't be me
Then one day I got a call
from the man who made me my all
and on the phone he had said,
"Ally get this thing or It's dead!"
So, I went to his house and there you were
The most cutest, the most adorable
bundle of fur.
Your eyes were yellow and your fur, black and white
even though you were cute
you kept me up the whole night.
I bought you some toys that you just seemed to eat
then you denied me when i gave you a treat
The time came where you grew into a young cat
Cuddled up on your tiny grey mat
You were my Angel that came to me in need
you gave me that ground
that reponsibility.
So yes, I called you my "baby boy"
because that is what you were
and that is what you still are.
I heard my mom's cry from the kitchen.
She then brought you in,
You were lifeless, you were limb
as if you were dead.
A fear rose up within me and I pulled you into my chest
I held you close and said "Baby boy, you'll be ok, just please stay awake."
That's what you did, just for me.
You tried your damnness to keep those eyes sparkling
You held onto my shirt on the whole way to the vet
and before they took you away I could of swore I heard you say
"don't worrey Mommy, I'll be ok"
Sitting there in the waiting room I was told you were dead
So I just shutup and hung my head
God gave you to my to make me happy
but would god take you away if his goal was completed?
Once again I was afraid, upset, and alone
I had lost my cat to antifreeze
I had lost my home.
Then a gleam of hope shined through those doors
when a vet came out and told us "His heart has started beating again." and then more.
You were responding to treatment,
You were playing with your cords
You were even eating!
Hell, you even scored!
So I wait here now
until you come home,
because with you baby boy,
I'm never alone.
God gave you to me to give me a smile
So I'll make damn sure
You'll be here for a while.
