yesterday we saw an Adder


we have known since we bought the caravan that there are adders in the area, yesterday we actualy saw one.
We took the dogs for a walk down the country lane and i just happened to see it sunbathing, looked to be quite big.

Oh what a shame - hope you can try again Shelley. I've seen an adder a couple of times, they are reasonably common here on the south downs but I had no idea they were also found in Scotland.

Adders are in Scotland, saw one when working on a farm on the border in the Coquet Valley. Very lucky my dog wasn't bitten. I was told it's a £5000 fine if you kill one!

Lovely creature Shelley, glad you managed to get p/bucket to work - I like snakes but of course treat them with great respect, glad you managed to keep the dogs safe, that's quite a worry with dogs, who have no sense at all to stay well clear.

Great photo Shelly, and well fed by the looks of it too.
You don't see many around. When Noah's Ark came to rest on dry land all the animals said "what shall we do now Noah", "Go forth and multiply". To which the adder replied "We can't, we're adders!". (Groan)
