Let me know if you ever do the show near me again Kay and i will come along if i can.
CATS not RATS, Shelley

It is the cat worlds equivalent of Crufts although not as big and is held at the NEC in Birmingham. I did the Preston and Blackpool show this year showing Star in the Household Pet section before he went to his new home. He got Best In Show Household Pedigree Pet.

I will be there next year as well so will let you know.

Re: Judging Engagement!!

awww what a shame i missed you, it would be lovely to meet up.
We have two Basenjis and are toying with the idea of showing them a few times to see what happens. I am reluctant to tell any Basenji friends, particularly the breeders in case i change my mind

Re: Judging Engagement!!

I used to show Chihuahuas and my Belgian Shepherd, Finn, but I would not want to get back into the dog show scene. I had thought about it when I got Kita my current Belgian Shepherd but decided not to. Too much judging who is holding the lead and not the dog for me. Just my opinion. I will stick with the cat shows.

Good luck if you decide to show though

Re: Judging Engagement!!

yes i completely agree Kay, we have been told this by several people. I'm sure my face wouldn't fit, lol.
However i feel a bit frustrated that we keep being told how good the dogs are and we should get them in the ring.
I may try the breed club shows and see what happens if i can find the courage. Will have to do some ringcraft though and i'm rubbish at stacking them.

Re: Judging Engagement!!

I used to do ringcraft at a church hall in Ashton which is near you. There was also an excellent one at Thornton which I did as well. Don't know if they are still going.

Just give it a go and see what you think you may love it and your face may well fit LOL.
