Re: Newbie here! can anybody help?

I'd try and keep up with the syringing - to keep him hydrated at least. Sorry to hear he's not eaten today. I am keeping him in my thoughts and pleas with The Great Cat.

Not good; praying he will start eating ... can you tempt him with things like ham or sardines?? Not ideal food, but any food is better than no food .....

Re: Newbie here! can anybody help?

i have offered him 5 different types of cat food, sardines, tuna ham lol he did seem to enjoy the steak out of my pie yesterday, i might see if i can get some meat tomorrow, or another pie! he is still wee-ing and moving about, venturing back upstairs to sleep on the bed aswell.

Re: Newbie here! can anybody help?

It might be worth trying him with the likes of chicken or white fish- if he is feeling sickly something more bland may appeal to him. It may also be worth giving a soft pate type food, blended with cat milk, cats in renal failure can get ulceration in the mouth and it can make eating difficult- something soft may be more palatable.

Hope he perks up again.

Re: Newbie here! can anybody help?

i'm afraid that mondo took a turn for the worse today, he was at the vet this morning and they said there was nothing else they could do for him. i arrived home from work and went to give hime a cuddle and he was miaowing a lot, i put him on the couch and he was doing the same and panting like a dog. my boyf had given him water little less than an hour before and he wansnt at all like that. i phoned the vet to say i was coming and my little guy was put to sleep. his gums had turned white aswell. he didnt feel any pain and went to sleep quickly. goodbye my little guy you will be sorely missed and hope you realise how much we love you
