Re: Fran/Porsha

Just got her home She doesn't like the buster collar, the vet said I could take it off but to watch her. Took it off and she is trying to pull her stitches out So I've had to put it back on. I have to keep a close eye on her for any sickness/signs of being off colour as the first couple of days are always a worry after bowel surgery. Since she was having the bowel surgery anyway they decided to spey via midline incision save having two sets of stitches! She's back at the vets on Thursday morning for a check up. Results of biopsy should be early next week. The vet has also sent some food allergy tests off. She has a bit of a runny bottom just now, only to be expected really after the surgery. I've taken a picture of her in her buster collar. Will upload later. Just keeping an eye on her at the moment

Thank you all for your kind wishes x

Re: Fran/Porsha

Glad she's ok Fran.

We use a different type of collar now for the dogs, not sure if you can get them for cats, but they are basically like a thick neck brace / collar & just stop the dogs from being able to get to wound etc, much better than the old EC's. I don't know if they'd work on cats though as they are so small.

I'm pleased to hear that Porsha is back home with you Fran .......... trust her to have a go at her stitches!

That idea of Smudgley's seems good - the EC collars are so cumbersome....

Re: Fran/Porsha

How about something like a baby vest or something so she can't get at the stitches but without the collar?
Glad she's home though.
