We have the material to experiment with perpetual motion, though. Cats always land on their feet, so if you tie a slice of toast (butter side away from cat) to a cat, the next time the cat jumps it should spin, as the cat and the toast battle to be paw side down/butter-side down. Or, I suppose the cat will now levitate in perfect balance with the toast and defiance of gravity.
Personally I bet the cat would eat the toast/butter first thing...
